(Durable Party Boat Rods)

FEATURES & FACTS:

(Durable Party Boat Rods)

Gull’s “Head Boat” rods are designed and built specifically for Daily Service Duty. Few rod makers dare to enter this arena. The rods need to be extremely durable, perform at a high level and still be affordable. They are used day in and day out in harsh conditions, often by beginners who don’t know what they are doing. Our business comes solely from one Captain recommending us to another. If you’re one of them reading this, thank you. We want you to be successful. We are all in the same boat.

MODELS – From lightest to heaviest

PB55DLX 15-30  Length 5.5 feet, light tip action but solid backbone. Usually used with 40 lb mono, sinkers to 6 oz.  Popular for bay fishing and outside for fish less than 5 lbs, for when you want the angler to feel the rod bend, porgies, grunts, sea bass, yellowtail snapper, mackerel etc, but can handle much larger fish. (One day we were into 25lb black tips on bunker pods (private boat, no tangle issues) & the rod performed great, even a sandbar shark in the 90-100 lb range. Very impressive little rod).

PB55DLX 15-40  Length 5.5 feet, medium heavy tip action, solid backbone. Usually used with 40 and 50lb mono. 16 oz sinkers no problem. Great all around rod. Popular on boats with short rod lockers. Very popular in the Carolinas.

PB60DLX 15-30 Length 6 feet, light-medium tip action, solid backbone, extended fore grip. Used with 40-50 lb mono.16 oz sinkers ok. All around rod for small to medium fish. Popular for fluking, striped bass, and on the West Coast of Florida, the Keys and South Texas.

PB60DLX 15-40 Length 6 feet, Medium heavy tip, solid backbone, extended fore grip. This is our most popular rod. Usually used with 50 to 60lb mono with 3/0 and 4/0 reels. Popular in New England for bottom fishing haddock, hake, blackfish, etc and it is the go to rod for red snapper, kings, triggers etc in the Carolinas, Florida and Alabama.

PB60DLX 20-40 Length 6 feet, Heavier tip, extended fore grip. Usually 50 to 80lb mono is used depending on the area. This rod is popular in Texas where everything is big. Good for red snapper, amberjack, medium sharks, cobias, school yellowfins, white marlin. Also used by some boats in New England for large bottom fish & for blue fishing. (when swinging big choppers over the rail is the norm). Charters often use it as a standup trolling rod too.

Our Composite Reel Seats feature a Heavy Guage, Sure Grip Knurled Tightening Ring for a smooth, snug fit. (Your reels will thank you!)

Gull’s 6’rods have Extended Fore Grips providing extra leverage when needed. (It may also help protect the blank from the rail, depending on the angler).

Gimbal Slotted Butt Ends are standard.

Great action: High grips, stiff backbone and a responsive tip fight the fish, not the angler. Gets fish in quick.
